A day of peace and reflection as we yawed and lolled our way down the line in a moderate following sea. Rigging and preparation were foremost activities that occupied a good portion of the day with plenty of conversation in between. On these passages to the distant south there is plenty of time to reflect, and conjure new takes, upon tales of past heroics.
Other than a little levity there isn't much else in the way of action to report from our deck and bridge. Travel time down and back is typically uneventful; a chance to unwind, decompress, and prepare less any sense of urgency. It is a cathartic ritual on these longer Winter and Spring runs to be relished, enjoyed.
From the grounds details continue to elicit promise - plenty of good fishing continues to beckon. And not just for this voyage. All indications point to a run with legs. This is especially significant to one and all still in the market for a voyage in upcoming weeks or months. Very good signs of trophy yellowfin amidst a perfect set of conditions suggests that much more good fishing is to come. Best said, taking into account the myriad of variables in fishing, the odds favor many good days of trophy yellowfin fishing to come. If you can take advantage of this peak by all means clear your schedule. Now is as good an opportunity as one will find.
To this end we have a few spaces available on the upcoming fifteen day voyage sponsored by Dennis Braid. In addition to being a fantastic, incredibly knowledgeable angler to share time at sea with Dennis always hosts his voyages with an outstanding array of raffle items and giveaways. Dates of the upcoming voyage are January 23rd through February 7th. This trip is a ride down and back maximizing fishing time on the outside. Drop Tracy a line in the office if you can make it.
Otherwise the travel continues with smooth passage on our southerly heading. All's well as we wait. Our time will come.

1-9-201401/08/14 A nice day on the pond to be sure; perfect bait, calm seas, calm anglers, and a destination ahead teaming with fish - right now. Unfortunately that "right now" part of the equation is actually a little unsettling. As change is the one guarantee in fishing everyone can count on the odds of really good fishing remaining such for long periods of time are narrow. But we have seen it happen plenty of times in the past. The most important component...... Read More
