An easy day of southerly travel in perfect conditions - calm winds and seas, no significant movement. Time was passed
preparing for fishing to come with everyone out and engaged enjoying the ride and taste of salt air. It speaks to an ancient
instinct, whether flat calm or spirited in form, and satisfies more than the simplistic hunting call infused in most
adventurers still. Time at sea, especially when conditions are calm, is settling to the soul. It is a sublime victory tapping
into the passion of such a tempestuous element; one that instills a ceaseless yearning for the next, and the next.
Meanwhile we look to capitalize on the present calm hitting the brakes for a little fishing tomorrow on the way south.
Information coming over the wire suggests that fishing may still be on the upswing down below so our sights are set
accordingly. Of course we are still closely watching the progress of Hurricane "Raymond" far to the south all too aware of
how that menace could change our plans. For now though we are in good shape, and look forward to wetting our lines tomorrow.

10-27-201310/26/13 Much valuable experience has been dispensed during the past couple of weeks. Classic Fall conditions and variety are the fishing theme as the October voyages thus far contend with the standard peaks and valleys of fishing. The one missing component in the lower zones - bread and butter, 25 pound and larger yellowfin tuna - are conspicuously, even painfully, absent. Small fish, that do little in the way of satisfaction for anglers in these climes, abound. Great sign for next...... Read More

10/25/13 Today we hooked our first tuna right at the crack of dawn. We landed our last at around one in the afternoon. It was incredibly enjoyable to sit on the anchor and catch nice tuna for an extended period of time. During the bite we kept one to four going and put together a great finish for the trip. We will be in at 0630 tomorrow and Captain Ekstrom will be at the wheel for our next adventure. Greg Akinshin is all...... Read More
