Ah how these bluefin can make a hero of the fool and fool of the hero. Not too often, on both sides of the equation, but the
statement is lived by all of us pursuing them time and again. They are wily, maddening; they are unbelievably intriguing;
they are the apex quarry for so many reasons. A more worthy opponent in the offshore realm I can not contrive. The drive such
devilish tactics instills is understandable as such. I can assure one and all, speaking for the majority of my colleagues,
that there is no more satisfying offshore success than clobbering good grade bluefin. It is the standard.

Presently foremost in our strategy we venture forth on this six day run spread out in search of the main vein. There is a
tremendous bounty of bluefin out there; make no mistake about it. Day to day results, that resemble a roller coaster ride,
are doing little to reveal the real quantity of fish around. A good portion of it still appears to be on the move searching
for that sweet zone to settle in. When it does - and it will - there is going to be plenty more clobbering done. This summer
season is just starting to really get rolling within about 100 miles of home. Wait until the yellowfin and dorado, that are
already starting to show in fair quantities, join the grand program.

I mention this relative to our upcoming schedule that has a few spots available in September. The new three day that we added
Sept. 7 - Sept. 10th has a handful and the two final, Baja Fish Gear and Larry Brown seven day voyages also have plenty of
room. If you are wavering about the fishing don't. The present set up, compared with many prior successful seasons, favors
much more good fishing as we progress into September and even October. The variety time of year is fast approaching. Take
advantage of the upcoming availability by calling Tracy in the office next week.

Meanwhile, with a share of good fortune, we'll be getting down to business during the next few days offshore. Good weather in
the forecast suggests opportunity is knocking.

08/04/13 Opportunity connected with the dream early as a boomer school of 50 - 65 pound class bluefin was engaged with our full arsenal flying. The adrenaline meter was pegged both on deck and the bridge as the spot swung around and appeared as though it wanted to get down to business. For about ten or fifteen minutes, oh were they sweet, the maddeningly fickle bluefin dropped their guard a little bit. Not so much that our full ability was necessary...... Read More

08/01/13 We got off to a nice start with a grey bite for 40bft but the rest of the day produced very little aside from a few flats and small bft. Overall a down day for the fleet, hopefully they float tomorrow. Randy ...... Read More
