What a day; one like we haven't seen in at least twelve or fifteen years. A combination of perfect offshore
weather, plentiful "filler" yellowfin tuna to occupy ourselves in between, and then the golden opportunity of
summer offshore long range fishing - trophy bluefin tuna. It was a good day to be on the water in the right place.

Once again these anglers settled into the zone when opportunity knocked taking full advantage by keeping their
cool, rigging properly, and using the right equipment. The result was seventeen bluefin from 118 - 167 pounds with
the majority weighing 125 - 140. Throw in a couple more that weighed right at and just under one hundred and the
story is complete.

Added to yesterday afternoon's nice hit we steam north with 25 bluefin in the RSW tanks from 118 - 167#. Spiked,
bled, dressed and held to perfection in seawater chilled to 30 degrees a better result from a long range voyage in
the form of product is not possible. The inherent value of such amazing fish, along with the excellent catch of 18
- 25# yellowfin and school size, 25 - 40# bluefin that join them in the RSW tanks, is a treat that elevates this
voyage into a realm not often visited. This day, this voyage is very special, and a radiant example of the
unlimited potential found in long range fishing.

anglers Chad Veinot (front), Frank Matsumoto, and Karl Fechner with a rack of beauties on deck dressed and ready
for placement in the hatch. Chad's fish in the forefront topped out at 140#. Photo number two features master
angler Clyde Wickham with his largest bluefin of the day that came in at 150# even. What a day!
