The adventure begins on time in perfect form with a highly charged group of anglers well prepared for fishing to
come. A brief night and morning of travel will lead to ample fishing time tomorrow afternoon as we attempt to get in
the saddle with a perhaps a few good ones in the hatch and supplement our supply of sardines before continuing the
southwesterly trek.

After a month long maintenance shutdown that focused almost exclusively on the cosmetic condition of Royal Star
anglers arrived to a near fully renovated interior that includes new, long awaited, shelving in all the stateroom
closets. Between the interior and exterior improvements and mechanical upgrades, Royal Star is now in fine condition
ready to endear anglers to her fishing abilities as well as cosmetic appeal. It certainly was time; and she is
deserving.

Now we will see if we can put the effort to good use returning to sea as fishermen. Look for daily updates to
continue from this point forward as we are back up and running, but for one more brief shutdown at the end of May,
through March 2014. This boat is ready - and so are we.

Same as the previous eighteen years we haul the boat at Driscoll boat works on Shelter Island and welcome any and all of you to stop by and take a look at her while she spends a few days out of her environment. The projects proceed at a lightning pace as we rip and...... Read More

3/19/13 A couple more images of the scenic variety provided by Toke Aw featuring Royal Star and the always mesmeric Clipperton topography; the idyllic tropical atoll has a beckoning quality from afar that calls to soul. Of course reality is very different - the birds, crabs, tropical heat and humidity, and incessant cacophony of competing and complaining boobie birds transform the perceived haven into something very different once on shore. But the unique setting, strange and surreal, is still enchanting, and...... Read More
