A looonggg ride up the line reminding us in the starkest of terms just how far the atoll of Clipperton is from
anywhere. Crappy weather did not make the passage of time any easier on us as we slogged our way through counting
the miles one by one; they don't add up quick at the beginning number of 575. But it is all part of the adventure;
the ride north is an inevitability on all long range voyages. Sometimes the bill for good weather comes due,
sometimes not.
We'll be back in the game tomorrow enjoying a few more days of fishing, three to be exact, in search of something
grand to expand our litany of special experiences. Photo today features another east coast warrior who decided to
tangle with a few Clipperton tuna on the big popping gear. Fred Pohlig got all that he bargained for, and then
some, when reefing on a few good ones. Thankfully he never hooked one of the bruisers like his good friend Greg
did the day before leaving him with only fond memories of good times.

3-9-20133/8/13 Little contemplation today about what was in anticipation of what is to be. The first leg of the passage across was smooth and quiet as a light tropical breeze buffeted calm seas. It looks like tomorrow will be markedly different as stiffer trade winds are forecast. Either way the ride north, and weather, was inevitable. Keeping this in mind we make progress to the northwest satisfied with the notion of good things to come. Photo for the day features accomplished angler...... Read More

3/7/13 By the time this day was over, with plenty more of what Clipperton has to offer on this run under our belts, we opted to spend the second half of our fishing time this voyage in search of something bigger. We departed the atoll successful, a bounty of 70 - 120's reside in the hatch, but the glory - the magical Clipperton fishing extreme; the diamond studded gold ring, remained just beyond reach. And that is fishing; that is why the...... Read More
