We finished up the year in fine style with steady fishing all day on 80-150lb yellowfin with a 268 standout. Judging by the incredible sign we've seen here for the last two days I would have to say it looks very good for the upcoming trips. Everyone onboard is ecstatic at the prospect of three more days of this caliber of fishing in beautiful weather. Happy New Year to all from the Royal Star crew. Today's shot shows Jake Waardenburg, a great young man who did everything perfectly and was rewarded with this 268lb trophy yellowfin.

An all around fantastic day of fishing in beautiful weather made for a great start to the trip. The majority of the tuna landed today were 80-170 with the exception of a trophy 315 taken by Liz Franzino, a long time Royal Star regular. We departed on a 12-day the 26th and have been enjoying a nice ride down in beautiful weather while recuperating from the holiday festivities. We are thankful for the couple extra days we added to this trip as it has put us in perfect position to make the long haul where we hope to pick up where we left off last trip.
