We had a great first day of fishing today on 22-35# albacore with some 25-38# bluefin in the mix. Our best stop was for 29 fish so we got to experience a short time of cast and swing style fishing. The weather came up a bit in the afternoon, but it didn't affect the fishing. We are currently changing locations looking for a different sea state and target species.

We are currently headed offshore for a little bit of prospecting while the weather is down. We are hoping that things will change soon and the fish will return to a biting mode. Scratchy at best on the albacore grounds today with plenty of spots seen, but plenty of perfectly presented baits ignored. I don't know if any of you have noticed but this sure seems to be the theme of this trip.
