I'd love to tell you that it was just luck or the odds finally coming around but that wouldn't be straight. A certain amount of luck always accounts for some fishing success, and today we had our share, but the positions we placed ourselves in were no coincidence as two days of driving around and sharing information about catches and conditions provided a very good picture of what we were working with. As such we developed and applied today's strategy for huge success loading up on albacore from a variety of stops the best of which produced a whopping one hundred thirty one of the fat longfins before they quit biting. Needless to say spirits are still soaring as the revelers on deck celebrate the turn of our voyage from an anxious affair to one of jubilant triumph. There is nothing like these kinds of days to validate all the extreme effort we dedicate to producing the finest fishing in the world for our anglers. Of course tomorrow is a new day, and the battle will begin anew, but after struggling somewhat the first couple of days, tonight we grant ourselves a few hours to smile and feel large before turning in.

Without a doubt this group of top notch anglers earned the real honors as two days of sloppy weather and marginal fishing tested their mettle and patience. To an individual their demeanor remained upbeat and outlook positive as they rode out the extended lull focused on spending good times with friends rather than the tough conditions we were faced with. The fishing reward was that much sweeter and recognizable as a result.

So with a vast amount of appreciation and greater amount of relief we head for new grounds tomorrow seeking species variety and a change of scenery for our final day of fishing this voyage. The most beautiful weather one can imagine accompanies the effort as we close out this day happy for the privilege to participate in this magnificent fishery offshore.
