Fish Report for 2-28-2009
After a good thrashing on the ride home yesterday, Capt. Sims and the guys will be arriving at 1130 this morning glad to be back on terra firma. Following a quick unloading, the grand project will commence as we begin the process of disassembling the engine room in preparation for removal of our trusty old Cummins KTA1150 main engines next week. We will be making two cuts in the deck to provide easy access during this project that will encompass the entire month of March to complete.
Throughout the month of March I will continue posting images from the Revillagigedo tagging voyage as I have hundreds more to share. Also, I will post images of the re-power for any and all mechanical buffs who like to know what goes on during our down time. Look for photos to resume on Monday March 2nd and to continue on weekdays at least through the first week in April.

I spent a few minutes in the water taking shots from a...... Read More

Before I describe any photos, I must express appropriate gratitude and recognition to Inter- American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC) Senior Scientist Kurt Schaefer, IATTC scientist Dan Fuller, and Sr. Gabriel Aldana from Mexico's Instituto Nacional de Pesca (INP) for their tireless efforts in the support of the Revillagigedo tagging project. Without a doubt, these voyages would not have realized consistent success were it not for the support and participation of these exceptional scientists. The data on yellowfin tuna movements and......
