Royal Star

These are some worn out anglers today with one hundred fourteen tagged yellowfin tuna and eleven Wahoo as evidence of their efforts. Aside from a few hours of moving to get the lay of land we spent the majority of our day in various anchored positions all of which produced steady action on 40 - 70# yellowfin tuna with about twenty five percent of the total tuna catch in the 80 - 130# range. Big fish of the day mention goes to Nick Furjanick with a slim and mean one eighty while several other opportunities at big ones were definitely missed for the usual variety of reasons.

Perfect conditions from every perspective graced the day's efforts and placed the finishing touch on a fantastic, very enjoyable day of pure catching.

Feeling now that we have thoroughly assessed what "Smokey" has to offer, we are off to the next closest island of Socorro where we will continue the search and effort to deploy as many tags as possible in yellowfin tuna and Wahoo tomorrow. We are off to a good start here and are appropriately grateful as such.

After that we took off, moved about one half mile amongst plentiful...... Read More

Though filled with appetizing enticements and limitless unsavory temptations our stopover was quick and succinct allowing just enough time for all to come on board and get settled before our southward journey continued. So now our focus narrows to the business at hand as Isla San Benedicto is on...... Read More
