Wow! What a day to be out on the ocean. This was one of those days when it was a pure joy to be a fisherman with every condition aligning in favor of very good catching on 70 - 190# yellowfin with the majority of what we landed falling between the 90 and 120 pound mark. In fact, with six full days of fishing time remaining and tremendous prospects, at noon we established a minimum size of fish to be kept at greater than one hundred pounds as the voracious disposition of the mid size class fish could easily limit our capacity if we didn't pull back on the reins. Without taking anything away from today's effort suffice to say it was one of those days out here when the main component of success was being here with bait, and fishermen with lines over the side. Until very late in the day, just about every time we stopped the boat around fish they came charging with an insatiable appetite ready to eat everything we had to offer. Like I said, this was one of those days when it was pure joy to be a fisherman.

So now the bar is raised as we are not simply attempting to catch the plentiful yellowfin in this zone. The challenge is to cull out the bigger models that are no doubt lurking somewhere around here in mass. We're not offering any guarantees however as we are well aware of how quickly conditions can change. What is so fine on the ocean one day often morphs into something quite different the next. As such tomorrow is a new day and Captain Toussaint takes the helm with the new challenge of putting some trophies on board. Needless to say we are fully committed and ready to maintain the momentum. It looks like the perfect weather we have been enjoying should hold out for at least one more day so the stage is set for what we hope will be another big day tomorrow.
