Fish Report for 11-4-2007
Another nice day of offshore variety action on three sport fishing favorites though we were interested in only two. Yes, it is a blast from the past as we fished mixed schools of wahoo, beautiful, 25 - 35# class dorado, and the omnipresent (today anyway) striped marlin that gave every angler numerous thrills with their colorful antics both around the boat when hooked and free swimming while chasing baits. Truthfully, the stripers were a collosal pain in the neck at times as we much preferred the dorado and wahoo, but that certainly doesn't take away from their beauty or their spirit as worthy opponents when hooked on lighter tackle by anglers seeking smaller varieties. Finally, in reference to the striped marlin, I am pleased to report that every fish hooked was sucessfully released as I believe is standard practice on all long range vessels.
So, the day was another success that similar to yesterday did not break catch records or set new precedents but satisfied anglers with steady, all day action in perfect weather conditions. We did end up again with respectable numbers on the wahoo that are all the beautiful size class we look forward to on fall ten day long range voyages as well as a decent score on the big dorado. With today's success in the bank and continued good weather in the forecast, tomorrow will see us again on the offshore grounds in search of the above listed species, excepting striped marlin, and also yellowfin tuna. Let us hope that tomorrow is an up day for the tuna as a good day on yellowfin would round out the variety list in perfect fashion.

11-3-2007Much better results today with a good shot at big fat "skinnies" that definitely qualify as crowd pleasers. Good weather graced the effort making for a very enjoyable day of catching that will not go down in any history books, but was a great example of fall ten day long range fishing. Variety and quality is the name of the game and we are on the right track so far. Tomorrow the offshore search will continue as the weather forecast...... Read More

Not much to report today in the way of fishing as we continued down the line to set up for the big push on the outside. Presently however, it sounds like we have our work cut out for us as reports are less than stellar in a wide variety of zones. There are definitely a few rays of hope though and as always we prefer to view the cup as half full, especially this early in a voyage. By days...... Read More
