Fish Report for 8-24-2006
After a very good morning and steady afternoon of quality yellowfin tuna action, we settled in to wait for the evening hit that would make for a big day here at Guadalupe. Similar to yesterday however, the evening failed to materialize with only a handful of fish landed late, despite good working conditions. I can only offer the same wisdom as yesterday upon reflection realizing that what we already had in the hatch was, by any standard, a fantastic day of fishing at the outside island. After throwing in a little late night action on thirty five pound class yellowtail, the day was deemed a complete success. So here we remain for our final full day of fishing with high hopes the good fortune we are all enjoying will continue.

8-23-2006We scratched out a nice day on these beautiful fifty to sixty pound yellowfin at Guadalupe but were a little disappointed but an unfavorable, mid afternoon current change that put the brakes on what was promising to be a big day. We got off to a modest start here today with the overall picture slowing down a bit but still plenty sufficient by any standards. Of course every tuna is a premium grade (50 - 70# class) and with the expert handling and RSW storage, it does not take an enormous amount to supply an angler with plenty of exceptional, fresh product to take home.
