Fish Report for 4-27-2004
A fine ride north with home on our bow a short day away and excellent weather accompanying our journey. Of course we have been busy wrapping up plenty of loose ends but I can honestly say that both Royal Star and the boys are ready to shut down for a night following eighty nine days out and over eight thousand miles traveled. Royal Star will not be shut down for long as Randy will be departing the morning following our arrival on our annual spring eight day trip and following that on our final seventeen day voyage of the season. There is plenty of good fishing to come as well as reports from the vessel as we are now officially back on line following the long dry spell.
In addition, look for more information on both Royal Star Panama and Clipperton voyages in the next couple of weeks as we are in the process of finishing our Winter/Spring 2005 schedule. The new schedule will be posted prominently on our website upon completion so look for the dates of your adventure soon. In the meantime feel free to call us in the office if you are interested in a voyage as we have already begun lists for both Panama and Clipperton voyages in 2005.
Getting back to the fishing now, I thought I would post a list of our jackpot winners as a tribute to this latest Clipperton voyage. In addition to our jackpot winners, another eleven fish broke the two hundred pound mark and we wouldn't be surprised if a few more slipped through the cracks while they were being dressed for the RSW tanks. I do want to mention the fact that we put forth a tremendous amount of effort toward offering the RSW benefit on this voyage and it is through the cooperation of the anglers that we were able to accomplish such a fantastic bonus. The fact that our anglers began tagging and releasing yellowfin in the fifty to one hundred thirty pound class right out of the gates enabled us to conserve hold space until the final days when the RSW option became viable. Forty two yellowfin were released with tags and another twenty five were released without tags during hectic circumstances. These anglers are to be sincerely commended for their interest in embracing such a worthy endeavor and will no doubt be the beneficiaries when they sit at the table in the next few nights enjoying their incredible, grade "A", fresh yellowfin tuna steaks. Job well done gentlemen and we look forward to fishing with all of you in the future.

Again we apologize for the lack of reporting due to our satellite phone being unable to connect to our host server. I was able to call in this report today to give everyone an idea of the incredible fishing we've had over the last 5 days. Every morning we've had a good hit on fish between 170 and 190 pounds and currently we have 12 over 200 pounds. The weather has been a bit rugged but we've...... Read More
