Fish Report for 5-19-2004
Bruce started off the day with another released cow we estimated at 220-225 taken on a scad from Alijos. I'm sure this is the first time anyone has released two over 200 in a trip, on purpose anyway. The rest of the day fell right into place with nice steady scratching on beautiful grade fish. Our total was 20 for the day, 15 of which were 130-195 with 5 over 200 including Bruce's fish. Needless to say we're on cloud nine and hope for a repeat performance tomorrow to finish the trip.
Today's shot shows Craig Drummond with a 215 taken at dark on the kite.

5-18-2004Very slow today but we did land a few nice ones. Bill Kuehl landed a mean 260 after a long battle in the skiff and veteran long ranger Bruce Posthumus released an estimated 230-240 at sundown. Bruce has landed numerous 200lbers over the years and now gets more pleasure letting them go, it was quite a sight to watch that big cow swim away. With two days left we're hoping it turns on. Today's shot shows Bill with his 260. ...... Read More

We had several opportunities at big fish again today but were only able to capitalize on two of them. Up until today our luck on landing the cows has been impeccable, so we were due for some losses. Our total was 10 for the day from 110-180 with two at 217. In stark contrast to the last few years, the wahoo have been virtually nonexistent with only a few mixed in each day. Today's shot shows Royal Star regular Tim Williams with...... Read More
