Farmington Pond Fish Report

2-5-2015
Utah Division of Wildlife

The majority of the reservoir still has ice, but the ice is very thin and unstable. Even ducks and geese are breaking through the ice. The ice has receded away from the edges enough that you can fish the open water along the shore -- especially around the inlet. The water is clear, so you can easily see the large brood stock swimming around the pond. The brood stock have become harder to catch since they were originally stocked in December. Try using traditional ice fishing lures tipped with waxworms or spikes. You should also try using traditional open-water gear like spinners, PowerBait or nightcrawlers.
