Best seat in the house!!!

10-28-2007
Dave Jacobs

It has been said that the best seats in a drift boat are the ones up front. That couldn't have been more true for Dennis Fife of Santa Rosa, Ca. who met up with brother Jim for a salmon trip on the Smith River with guide Dave Jacobs of Professional guide service in late October. With the recent heavy rains in Northern California a nice push of fresh king salmon moved up on the Smith with very good fishing conditions for a few days. Here is a shot of one of Dennis's largest salmon, a 30 pound king that slammed a sardine wrapped K-16 Kwikfish while flatlining in 12 feet of water. Salmon fishing will improve in November with steelhead season right around the corner with best steelheading December through March.
