Canyon Lake AZ Fish Report
1-22-2015
Arizona Game & Fish Department
Lake elevation is 1,659 feet (97-percent full). Canyon was stocked with rainbow trout the first week in January and is scheduled to be stocked again the second week of February. Boaters/kayakers/canoers can try fishing for trout in Boulder Cove with panther martins, Kastmasters, or bait. The Tonto National Forest has closed the fishing dock at the Boulder Recreation, possibly until Sept. 5, 2015.
Canyon is one of the top waters in the state right now to throw trout swimbaits for monster bass.
Like Saguaro, anglers can draw reaction strikes using jerk baits, crankbaits and, at certain times, spinnerbaits and top-water baits can really come into play. The jerk bait is the main bait.
