Get those Rain Dances going....Need a lot of moisture to get the water levels back....Less than 1/2 full right now but the good news is?? that the irrigation season is OVER for the year and levels are holding steady...Also, long range weather predictions call for 80 t0 120 percent of normal...Lake is clearing up after it turned over...Water Temps are in the 50's....Good for the trout....Fishery is healthy.....Eric and Michelle from Paradise Shores unloaded all their Brown trout a couple of weeks ago.....The Fish and Game planted approximitely 900 pounds this week from the Mt. Whitney hatchery and other Enhancement programs have contributed as well...Some reports out there have termed the Reservoir as a "puddle."....The marina may be a puddle but the rest of the lake has WATER!!!!!?? Up to 25' deep near the Dam and in the Narrows....Launch your boat at the Bathtub near the Dam...I am keeping one boat on a trailer for those of you who may want to rent....Trolling lures and /or nitecrawlers with flashers at 5 to 20 feet?? should be the way to get these fish....I marked a bunch of schools in the middle from the "Blue House" to the Bathtub....Also any of the coves on the West shore across from the Public Launch was packed with trout....Still fishing along any of the shores towards the Dam have been producing....Nitecrawlers and Power Bait are having some success..But I think you should get down there with your lures at the last hour of light....Brown Trout are HUNGRY!!!!!If you are Fly-Fishing, a full- sink line with streamers,( Loebergs, wooly's, even a saltwater fly.......probably brown, black or olive colors), would be your ticket....If we get some warm weather their very well may be a good hatch of midges so be ready to switch over to your still-water nymphing technique......The East Walker is producing fine fish.......Flows are a bit down 44 to 50...but the temps are low also so I see no problem to the fishery, contrary to some other reports floating around out there......For complete reports of Inyo and Mono fishiers log on to Sierra Drifters....Please feel free to call for more info on the weather or about the area, and of course, any of the lakes or streams around here..Happy Fishing!!!!??????
