Capt. Johns Fish Report 09-30-07

9-30-2007
Johnny Williams

With seas of about three feet to work with, today's offshore fishing trip by the partyboat Capt. John was run under much better conditions than yesterday...This was just fine with Capt. Tony Langston and the 33 fishermen aboard. Today's target area was a couple of wrecks and a rig in around 75 ft. of water, 35 miles past the end of Galveston's South Jetty. The fishermen and their cut squid or whole Spanish sardine baits convinced this catch to take the ride back to Pier 19 in the Capt. John's iced fish boxes:
?Ģ 66 red snapper to 12#, a daily limit for all 33 fishermen aboard
?Ģ 31 mangrove snapper to 10#
?Ģ 30 lane snapper
?Ģ 19 Atlantic spadefish
?Ģ 2 bonnethead shark
?Ģ 1 ling

Sam Rosas, Sugarland, along with four of his co-workers, Edgar Rodriguez, Carlos Jamie, Eric Rodriguez and Ignacio Rios all had red snapper limits to go along with Sam's 5 mangrove snapper to 10 lbs., Edgar's 6 mangroves to 9#, Carlos' 5 mangroves, 2 bonnethead sharks, 5 lane snapper and Eric's mangrove snapper.

What a great fishing day for Sam's group, along with all that "fellowship". Come fishing on the Capt. John with a family or friends group and enjoy the offshore fishing experience. Make that call to the office today at 409-762-8808 or 713-223-4853. Don't forget, October 31 is the last day the red snapper fishery is open in Federal waters this year. Make that reservations call.

Well, those two unwanted visitors "Breezy & Bumpy" were back today. The good news is that one of those multi-species catches was out there also. Today's fishing area was at that productive spot about forty miles offshore. Capt. Tony Langston pointed the sleek twin hulls of the partyboat Capt. John in a southerly direction after turning at the end of the Galveston south jetty. Wrecks and rigs in the area's eighty ft. deep water produced this catch for the 63 fishermen...... Read More

With the back-to-school doldrums having set in, multiple offshore trips during the regular week are hard to come by. This first trip offshore since Sunday by the partyboat Capt. John was, as usual, headed up by Capt. Tony Langston. With 33 fishermen aboard, a turn to the south through somewhat choppy Gulf waters was made. Shortly after departing Pier 19, they headed for that familiar area forty miles offshore, with its wrecks and rigs in around 80 ft. of water. The fishermen's...... Read More
