Skipper Brian Evans returned Spirit of Adventure to H&M Landing September 17 after a three-day trip that saw rough weather.
"We jumped up and went to the beach to fish," said Evans. "The weather wasn't pretty offshore. It was a tough trip."
Eleven-year old Jacob Gruberger thought differently.
"I thought it was a lot of fun!" said Jacob, after weighing his 17-pound yellowtail. "This is my biggest yellowtail, but not my biggest fish ever. I caught a big albacore on my last trip, but I got a huge red snapper on this one.
Rick Uribe of Huntington Beach said the youngster is "?Ķgetting pretty good out there."
