Cisco's Report "Winter Yellows Strike Again"

1-10-2015
Channel Islands Sportfishing

Winter YELLOWTAIL strike again! Anglers fished in the rain today in less than ideal conditions, but the bite made up for it! Both the Sea Jay and Cobra left this morning at 4AM and started throwing fish on at first light. Flurry's of fish hooked up every half hour or so on both the surface jig and live bait. These fish have been fattening up nicely averaging 25-30 pounds with a few larger models in the mix. Fishing the dropper loop will produce on the drift with the chance of a nice halibut a definite possibility.
Our 3/4 day Sand Dab trips are also getting out and Captain Don on the Gentleman is making it look easy. 100+ Dabs are becoming an average per angler count. If you like Dabs, you need to get out there!

Today's Fish Count: 3 boats and 35 anglers
30 Yellowtail, 1 Halibut, 1 Sand Bass, 2500 Sand Dabs and 1 Soupfin Shark (released).
