Fish Report for 10-9-2014

Cisco's report & count for Thursday

10-9-2014
Channel Islands Sportfishing

Another good day on the water with excellent weather. Another tough day for the big game hunters. Yellows are there and some were landed but several lost. The last couple days have been a really early morning bite, over by late morning. Thankfully the bass fishing has been good and the shallow water bottom fishing has picked up. Everyone has been coming back with nice bags of rockfish, calico bass and if lucky enough a fat yellowtail or halibut.

We have plenty of open spots on the boats going out tomorrow and through the weekend. In fact, Sunday looks really lite on all the open boats! Bring the heavy string (30lb-40lb) and some 4/0 hooks for yellowtail fishing. Also bring a bottom fishing rig or bass rig for Calicos. Weather should be awesome again, let's go fishing!!!

Today's Fish Count: 5 boats and 75 anglers.
484 Rockfish, 18 Yellowtail, 36 Calico Bass, 1 Rock Sole, 2 Sheephead, 1 Lingcod, 4 Whitefish and 1 Halibut.
