he fishing for Rockcod was wide open near 4 Mile Beach. There were good scores of Blues, Blacks, Vermilion's, Lingcod, and Yellowtail. The wind was up in the morning but it started to settle around 9:00am. There were a few Salmon caught straight out of Santa Cruz in 200 feet of water. The Halibut are still being caught near Natural Bridges in 35-50 feet of water. The Seabass are still in the kelp beds of Capitola in 20-35 feet of water. The Albacore waters may settle down on Saturday. We have to get this wind to stop blowing.

The inshore fishing was the best bet today due to the wind that was blowing on the outside. I fished for halibut today and ended up with one fish near Natural Bridges. The bite was slower in Capitola on the inside. There were some great scores of Vermilion near 3 mile beach in 70-90 feet of water. There were only a few Salmon caught near the Black Can. The fishing for inshore species is the best bet right now due to the windy conditions on the outside waters. The scores of Salmon ranged from 0-3 fish a boat near the Black Can at 36'51/121'52. The Salmon are being caught in 160-190 feet of water down 80-110 feet. There are Mackerel around so check your gear often.
