ROYAL POLARIS SPORTFISHING TRIP UPDATE (050914)

Royal Polaris Crew

Another great day (050914) Subject: Losey is The Man Fish Report: I mentioned yesterday's fishing was outstanding and today we had a similar day (meaning outstanding), but did not have the pandemonium of the onslaught of big ones all at once. Instead, we had 2-3 fish going most of the day with the majority of fish being in the upper class. We ended the day with seven fish over 200lbs including one particularly special fish over 300lbs. Here are the results... Garry Roberts improved on his PB with a 165lber. John Yamate caught his third fish over 200lbs at 202lbs. Fred Losey caught his second over 2 at 203lbs. Jeffy Shapiro caught his second over 2 at 221lbs. Vince Corbaci also caught his 2nd over 200 at 229lbs. Gary Cotter caught his 3rd big one at 253lbs. Mike Hieshima (The Ghostwriter) caught his 2nd for the trip at 265lbs. And for the grand finally, Richard Losey caught his 3rd over 2 and established a new personal best with our first 300lber of the trip weighing in at 308lbs... Highlights: Richard's catch is mentioned above, but the back story is both heartwarming and endearing. Earlier in the day, Richard was showing everyone the amazing birthday card his son Aaron drew for him before the trip. The drawing had a boat with an angler (appropriately named Dad) connected to a very large tuna (with a caption that said "help"). Richard said if anything brings him luck, this surely will. Shortly thereafter, he went up on the kite (using my borrowed kite rod) and had an enormous blowout on his bait. After an hour long battle taking him around the boat a few times, the supercow was landed. Everyone stopped fishing to see the weigh in. As the scale reached 308lbs, the boat erupted with high fives, chest bumps and back slaps. Congrats to Richard Losey for his first fish over 300lbs,it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy... Little Frank: Once again, due to the incredible fishing, no one was interested in the mischief of the Frank Bobblehead as we continued to be in awe of the amazing fishing and incredible talent of the crew. We will send the photo montage of Little Frank on our way back and the pictures can tell the story... The Ghostwriter
