Size Matters
Fish Report:
We had a great morning bite that became picky lasting most of the day. What we lacked in quantity, we made up in quality with most fish larger than 180lbs and 6 fish over 200lbs. You pretty much could count on any hooked fish being a nice one. Fred Losey held onto his rod today and landed a 204lber. Bill "Chartermaster" Nakaki caught his 2nd of the trip at 209lbs. Steve "Movie Man" Franco saved a 216lber (with the help of the incredibly skillful crew) from a broken reel with an emergency splice. Mike "The Ghost Writer" Hieshima was lucky enough to land the first fish of the day at 229lbs. Bruce "Wheels" Wheeler made fast work out of a 230lber sprinting back and forth up and down the rail (like an Olympic sprinter). Sue "Size Matters" Beck caught a 249lber, the biggest of our trip so far...
Highlights:
Here's Sue's story... She hooked a monster during the mid day that spooled her and a back up was sent out. Just as we got the back up in, the hook broke and the fish won its freedom. Rather than mope as all of us guys surely would, Sue (within a few minutes) hooked and landed our biggest of the day and biggest of the trip. All she could say afterwards was "Hey boys, size does matter!" (Paul, I made that part up)... Rich Losey says high to Linda and Aaron, he's having a great time and will be shopping for a new kite rod soon...
Little Frank:
Today our little friend was commenting on the incredible fashion displayed by the fisherman on this trip. Please keep in mind, Little Frank and Big Frank have worn the identical outfits for years, which consist of tighty whitey briefs (size huge), blue shorts (usually same pair every time), a XXL white t-shirt (saying "I heart Kathy") and white tennis shoes (requiring high octane odor eaters). He was most impressed by the different shades of teal our group wears combined with shades of orange and salmon (pink) New to the spring collection are weird sleeve like face coverings and hats that only a fisherman would wear. Basically, it looks like we dress in the dark on purpose. You have already seen some of the best fashion in the daily photo's, but there are several more doozies to come that will certainly elicit "what on earth are you wearing" comments along with " I thought I threw those shorts and t-shirts away". It's what we fisherman do...
