Mike Keating docked his Spirit of Adventure at H&M Landing August 20 after a four-day trip with 23 anglers that did very well on large-model yellowfin.
"They're at both ends of the island," said Mike, "and in the middle. It looks pretty good."
Gregg Dahle of Hermosa Beach took first place for his 70.4-pound tuna. He said he caught it with a Spanish mackerel on a 2/0 ringed Super Mutu hook, 40-pound blue Izorline, a Saltiga 40 reel and a Calstar 6465 rod.
Matt Salas of Redondo Beach, now in charge of Salas jigs, won second place, for a 68.3-poound tuna. Vince Duro of Highland won third place for a 67.7-pound yellowfin tuna.
