According to our area reporter, Captain Temo Verboonen, the bite was as good or better than the week before and the full moon had no affect on the fishing or the availability of boat. The boats were reporting multiple fish catches of both, sailfish and dorado on a daily basis just 6 miles out front of the Zihuatanejo Bay entrance. "We have been fishing all along the trash line and color break. There is lots of bait under the floating debris and the dorado are chasing them and making it easy for the skippers to locate the fish. The inshore fishing had it's up & down fishing days as the fish have been moving from the shoreline to deeper water and making it more difficult to find the fish from day to day. Overall, we have perfect ocean conditions with calm waters, close fishing and good water temperatures."

IZ Climate: A partly cloudy week with periods of bright sunshine. Excellent weather with warm days and near perfect evenings. Temps varied from 74 nights to 93 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Calm throughout the area. Temps holding near perfect at 84 degrees inshore and increasing to 85 offshore. Light & variable surface breezes from the westerly directions.

Best Fishing Area: Close to the entrance of Zihuatanejo Bay, starting at about 6 miles offshore, fishing along the trash line & color break.

Best Lure/Bait: Live bait was working very well for both, dorado and sailfish but the rigged baits were working equally as well, too, There was no lack of action on the artificials, too, as all of the fish seemed cooperative and anxious to bite.

Bait Supply: Excellent for both, live bait and fresh baits for rigging. Live bait is still $5.00 per dozen.
