Colorado Parks & Wildlife
DENVER - Colorado Parks and Wildlife is seeking comments from the public about managing some of the deer and elk herds in the northeast region.
Deer population and composition objectives and any other issues of concern regarding deer in management in Game Management Units 50, 500 and 501 (South Park herd) will be discussed, as well as elk management issues in GMU's 39, 391, 46, and 461 (Mt. Evans herd).
Area wildlife managers and biologists will be on hand to answer questions and gather input to update the herd management plans.
"Gathering information from the public is critical to our process of setting objectives for herd management in the state," said Shannon Schwab, terrestrial biologist.
