"This morning we find ourselves running back to the north," wrote Intrepid skipper Billy Santiago Jr. November 3, "with our tails tucked between our legs. We had grand dreams catching bigger quality grade fish, but due to conditions, we had to abort the mission. Late yesterday I made the decision to head down toward the lower banks. The current disturbance posing no threat to us at the time. However, I was concerned about the water temp, and I had no real way of getting a good check cause the satellite pictures have been so bad lately. We took off at dark, but at 2 A.M. we had to abandon the plan. We got into 79.6-degree water, and our bait started dying faster than we could scoop it out of the tanks. I made the decision to turn around, cause if we hadn't, I don't think we would have had a single piece of bait left at the end of the day fishing. We will be able to go down there in a couple of weeks or so, and when we do, we will exact revenge for the frustration. In the meantime all we can do is fish, and catch what the ocean will give us."
