Hello from your Lake Jennings!
Over the past weekend, fishing was fair. The only reports were of some Bass being caught but no limits. We will continue to monitor the lake temperature since we are still sitting on the warm side. The rain could not have come at a better time. Trout season will kick off this coming Friday, November 1st, but instead of 2,000 pounds, we are going down to 1,500. Once we see how the trout take to the lake temperature we can make up the difference in the weeks to come (See schedule change). Historically we know that they can tolerate warmer water. Hope to see you this Friday. Reminder, Day Light Saving Time ends this Sunday so make note of the time change below.

Best Catfish Spots: Deeper waters and the buoyline at the tower
Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel, Chicken Liver, or Dough Bait
Best Bass Spots: Points in 25' to 30' of water along the weed line.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Crankbaits, Frogs and small Crawdads
Best Wiper Spots: On the move in schools
Best Wiper Lures/Bait: Live Shiners, Chicken Liver and frozen Anchovies (fishing the bottom) and Crankbaits
Notables: No reports
Prognosis: Bass are counting the days for the trout to arrive so start throwing your swim baits. Wipers seem to be more active as the water cools down, so we expect to see more caught in the coming months. Catfish are moving out to deeper waters and our lake record of a 68 pound Blue Catfish was caught on Halloween nine years ago. I expect to see those looking for large cats to start arriving with heavy gear. As for the pan fish, with colder water they are expected to just shut down until springtime. New this year, Lake Jennings will stock 1 ?? to 2 pound trout along with trophies up to 12 pounds throughout the season.

Water Temperature: 72 degrees

Note New Hours:
FRIDAY and SATURDAY
OPEN AT 6:30 AM
CLOSE AT 6:45 PM
