Hello from your Lake Jennings!
The water temperature continues to drop which is good news as we near trout season. Fishing has improved for both shore and boat anglers fishing Bass and Red Ear with a couple of anglers fishing for Wipers. Yes, the Wipers are starting to bite and these anglers had a productive Saturday and returned on Sunday but no report. The several caught on Saturday were all released by choice.
Lake Jennings will start Trout season on the Friday of November 1st.
Best Catfish Spots: Deeper waters and the buoyline at the tower
Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel, Chicken Liver, or Dough Bait
Best Bass Spots: Points in 25' to 30' of water along the weed line. Topwater at the beginning of the day.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Crankbaits and Frogs
Best Wiper Spots: On the move in schools
Best Wiper Lures/Bait: Crankbaits, Rapalas and Spinners for trolling. Live Shiners or frozen Anchovies
Best Pan Fish Spots: T-Dock, Sentry and Half Moon Coves
Best Pan Fish Bait: Wax Worms and Meal Worms.
Notables: Limit of Wipers but where and what was used was not disclosed.
Prognosis: Perhaps with the cooler water temps the Wipers will begin to bite since several were caught this weekend. These fish are new to the lake so we have to watch their behaviors closely to see how they adapt. As we near trout season the larger Bass will start to make their presence making this a good time to start using those swim baits.
New this year, Lake Jennings will stock 1 ?? to 2 pound trout along with some 3-8 pound and 8-12 pound throughout the season. TROUT SEASON will start NOVEMBER 1st. New hours as the daylight changes so make note of the change in open and close times for the lake. Check out the Trout Stocking Schedule at the end of the report. Water Temperature: 75 degrees, the temp is dropping.
Note New Hours:
