In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is still a temporary ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.

The lake will be closed during the weekdays and open weekends only through the fall. We will re-open for weekday fishing on December 14th. Lake Wohlford is offering $20 all day motorboats to active military on the first and third Saturdays of each month. Bass are beginning to stir. We had several good sized Bass reach the scales this past weekend. The largest was caught and released by Jim Johnson of Escondido weighing 8.70#s it hit a plastic worm in Boat Dock Cove early Sunday. The Bass are most often caught near rocky outcroppings and are hitting shad raps, crawdads, and dark colored plastics. The fishing has also been good for the larger Catfish.
