Silver Creek opens on October 1st and if you haven't booked your guided trip yet, it is time. I would avoid the first couple of weeks as it will be a zoo but by the third week things should settle down, especially if you can make it during the week rather than a weekend.
Here is a video Steve Berry shot a couple of years ago and it shows what a great fishery this can be. Don't be fooled, it can be very technical and fly selection is crucial. There are a few flies you should always have in your box for Silver Creek. First is zebra midges in black, red, orange and pink. Next have a variety of chamois leeches in various shades of tan/ brown. Finally have bunny leeches in black and in white.
If you have questions about Silver Creek of any other fishery, shoot us an email to cinda@flyfisharizona.com
