Brian Kiyohara docked American Angler August 2 after a four-day trip with 24 anglers. Two of the fishermen aboard when he tied up at Pt. Loma Sportfishing were father and son Ken and Reid Fujimoto of Torrance, and they won first and third places.
Ken Fujimoto won first place for a 32.6-pound albacore. He said it came on a sardine and a 2/0 Gorilla hook, tied to 30-pound Ande line on a Torium 16 reel and a Sabre six-foot rod.
Larry DeWeese of Torrance was second for a 32-pound albie, and Ken's son Reid, 13, won third place. Reid is 13, and goes to West Torrance High, where he plays football as a lineman.
