HESPERIA LAKE: The Catfish bite has been good at Hesperia Lake. Best action has been on a Carolina rig with garlic or anchovy oil on crawlers, shrimp and mackerel. Action has been good all around the lake with the best bet being around the small island. No real big fish bragged about this week, but more and more limits in the 2 to 3 pound range. Jacob Gonzalez (age 6)was fishing the drain area and caught his first fish at Hesperia Lake and managed to bring in a 4.5 pound cat, all by himself.

1,000 pounds of fish on Monday October 7, 2013. Lots of large fish still prowl the depths. The lake is open from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the day session and 1:00 to 10:00 p.m. for the night fishing. No state fishing license is required here.

Trout are coming the end of October with 1,000 pounds a week from the cold waters of Mt. Lassen and additional loads of those famous Chalk Mound Trout coming on selected dates in November, December, January and February.
