Current River Conditions: Conditions are tough on the Klamath right now. Fishing is poor. We are closing in on the Autumn season and that means Steelhead! Expect better water conditions by October as the daytime and evening temperatures cool off.

This just in: Trinity River flows will increase as planed after Judge Lawrence O'Neil lifted a temporary restraining order blocking increased releases of Trinity Reservoir water intended to prevent a fish kill on the lower Klamath. A good Autumn season is assured!

The Fly Shop's?? Tips: Mid summer is a tough time on the Klamath, especially this year with the thick algae blooms happening as a result of drought conditions. It's best to wait until October and water temperatures that eliminate the algae for the winter.

Fly rods from 6wt to 7wt are perfect in lengths of 9' to 9.5'. Switch rods are popular and make casting very easy. Spey rods fit in well on the Klamath river.
