Shogun fish Report 07-26-07

Bruce A. Smith

The Shogun passengers and crew had a great day at Cedros today. We had beautiful weather throughout the day, wishing for a bit more breeze at times. The yellowtail bit well, and the size was pure Cedros quality. As for surprises, they came in the form of large halibut. Today they came aboard while targeting the yellows. Fishing the island I wonder if this is what La Jolla was like in the 40's, a rich diverse fishery. Right now Captain Norm has the Shogun rolling offshore is search of more yellows on kelps, perhaps the dorado will begin to fill in soon.
