Shogun finishes with a bang landing some nice Bluefin
7-8-2013
Bill Roecker
"We finished up with a bang today," reported Shogun July 7, "with some very good fishing on 50 to 90-pound bluefin. We found a boomer sonar school early and unloaded a massive chum line with the mackerel we caught at Benitos. Almost immediately slug bluefin came flying out of the water crashing on the free meal. The school settled in and we were able to keep 3 to 5 fish going all morning. Unfortunately the fishing was very far from San Diego and we quickly ran out of time by mid morning. We stretched it out as long as we could but eventually we had to call it a trip and point the bow toward home. With the late departure from the fishing grounds our ETA is looking to be around 9:30 back to Fisherman's Landing."
