"An early school of Bluefin sent us into a long drift for 75 fish," reported Red Rooster III skipper Andy Cates June 26. "Some fish in that drift up to 50 pounds. A nice surprise for what reports from other boats had been saying. We had another drift for twenty more Blue fin and a surprise stop on big fish over 100 pounds. We stopped and hooked 4 fish and watched some big fish boil around. The fish took a couple hours to bring in on light line and we did manage to land a couple of Jack Pot fish.
"It sure was exciting to see that size fish jumping around. Biggest fish landed was around 140 pounds. Tomorrow we are going to move up and fish closer to home. The area today was over 200 miles away and to far to fish in the morning."
