The Albacore bite was good for the anglers who went out
12-20 miles from the Santa Cruz Harbor. The best area was from 36'41/122'11 to 36'42/122'20. There were scores that ranged from 4-10 fish a boat. The fish are staying on the inside near the temperature break as close as 13 miles from Santa Cruz. The water was choppy but there were some 18 foot boats who ran out to the warm water. The winds were blowing in the afternoon so we will have to see what happens in the morning. The one good thing is that the water is close so you don't have to go far. The Halibut bite was decent near Capitola and in front of the Harbor in 40-60 feet of water. The Rockcod and Lingcod bite was great at Ano Nuevo with limits reported and big Olives being caught. South Rock was good and Natural Bridges produced in 105 feet of water.
