Qualifier Crew

WE DEPARTED POINT LOMA SPORTFISHING AT 1100 HOURS ON THE LOS ANGELES ROD AND REEL CLUB'S ANNUAL JULY 5 DAY LONG RANGE TRIP.?? BEAUTIFUL BAIT (SARDINES), BEAUTIFUL WEATHER (FLAT CALM) AND OTHER THAN LYNNE AND CHRISTY A GROUP OF NOT SO BEAUTIFUL ANGLERS, (THE CLUB MEMBERS TELL ME ALL THOSE LINES ON OUR FACES ARE BEAUTIFUL, I BEG TO DIFFER). I KNOW BETTER FROM LOOKING IN THE MIRROR.

LOOKING FORWARD TO ANOTHER FUN TRIP. THIS IS DAN FELGARS FIRST TRIP IN MANY A YEAR IN WHICH HE IS NOT OCCUPYING THE POSITION OF CHARTER MASTER. Dave Levinson has taken the helm for the club and we look forward working with him on the spring 5 days However WE ARE ALL A LITTLE NERVOUS THAT Dan WILL BE A BIGGER PAIN IN THE NECK AS A REGULAR ANGLER THAN AS A CHARTER MASTER ANGLER.?? JUST KIDDING,?? I PRESENTED DAN WITH A SMALL TOKEN OF OUR APPRECIATION AT DEPARTURE FOR ALL THE YEARS OF GREAT SERVICE TO THIS TRIP,THE Q105 AND THE CLUB.?? THANKS DAN.

I HAVE DECIDED TO BYPASS THE ALBACORE GROUNDS, AS THEY ARE SO CLOSE TO SAN DIEGO THAT WE WOULD BE IN A GEOGRAPHOCALY UNDESIRABLE POSITION FOR ANYTHING BUT ALBACORE AND THE FISHING IS HIT OR MISS.?? WE ARE ON OUR WAY TO CEDROS ISLAND HOPING TO FIND SOME ACTION TOMORROW ON YFT. WE WILL REPORT IN TOMORROW EVENING WITH OUR RESULTS.

The only way to silence a galley full of story telling fishermen is with a fabulous dinner and chef Chris silenced the...... Read More

This dandy of a yellow was followed by a 30+lb yellowtail landed by Carlos Fernandez. As the morning continued we enjoyed a solid bite on the yellowtail from 15-25 lbs. Then much to the delight of customers and crew passenger Marilyn Mehlmauer...... Read More
