Fish Report for 5-14-2013
Fishing is good at Del Valle Lake and should improve with better weather
5-14-2013
Del Valle Marina
Marina Hours: 6:00 am to 8:00 pm
Park Hours: 6:00 am to 9:00 pm.
Last Plant: On May 7, 2013 1000 lbs. of Trout from Mt. Lassen were planted.
Water Temperature: 65 Degrees at the Dock
Water Level: The water level is at full capacity right now.
Water Clarity: The water clarity has decreased again as the lake is turning over for the summer. Visibility runs from 5' to 7'.
Not much has changed for fishing at Del Valle Lake this week. The low pressure that had set in during the week has eased off now. We are back to the spring time temperatures so the fishing should improve quite a bit. Catfish are hitting just about anything that comes their way. Anchovies and stink bait work best for the Cats.
The trout bite is best early in the morning using Kastmasters and PoserBait. Black Bass are pretty active right now but you have to find them. They are hitting best on Rat-L-Traps and Robo Worms. It has been cool this week so the Stripers are not hitting. But this weekend will be hot so the Striper bite should be good. A lot of Crappie should be found along the banks, hitting small grubs and Shiny Lures.
Photos: Pictured Above: Ashley Lotscher of Livermore caught an 18 lb. stringer of Catfish from the Narrows with the largest weighing in at 6 lbs.
