General Conditions: The water temperature is between 56 to 58 degrees and the water level has risen about 3 feet. The inlet flow is going low. The last trout plants will be 3/7/13 and 3/21/13 at 1,500 lb.seach Thursday.

Bluegill: Bluegill are still out there at about 70 feet in the water column. A nice stringer of Bluegill cam in with several in the 1.5 to 2.0 lb. range. The angler was using small jigs and small mealworms.

Catfish: The Cats are still very deep. We have not seen any cats this week. The preferred bait for the kitties has been sardines, anchovies, nightcrawlers and chicken liver.

Largemouth Bass: The fat bass are beginning to stage up. They can be found in about 20' of water in the middle of the cove near the reeds. Pre-spawn time is here. Try fishing off points or secondary points. Plastics have been successful with some of the smaller males. Largemuth ususally spawn in water that is between 68 and 72 degrees. If you are fishing is clear water the best colors to use are browns and orange or crawfish imitations. If the visibility is low, move slow and use brighter colors.

Striped Bass: A couple of smaller stripers , 2 to 3 lbs. were spooked up with an umbrella rig. The Stripers can be found in the water column at 50 to 70'. Striped bass spawn when the water temperatures are in the 59 to 65 degree range. They should start to move to the warmer water soon and should be found in the main water channel flows.

Trout: Limits were caught all week with nightcrawlers, salmon or rainbow PowerBait scented with garlic. If you want to use lures use Thomas Buoyant, Aaron's magic or rooster tails. The majority of metered twout are either over east of Ramp 2 or along the shoreline at east bay or near the marina side pushed al the way to the end of the bay.

Carp: Plenty of big carp out there all year round, although Ramp 1 appears to be their favorite spot. The next trout plant will be March 7, 2013.
