Fish Report for 3-1-2013
Great opener at Pardee Lake, lots of anglers & fishing was very good

Fred Dorman
Last weekend was a great opener at Pardee Lake Recreation Area. Lots of anglers lined the bank and the fishing was very good.
Bank fishing has been good behind the EBMUD boathouse, Rainbow and Blue Herron Point and the shore to the left of the center arm of the Marina slip walk. Most anglers are using chartreuse or rainbow Power Bait (eggs or worms) with garlic and glitter. Pistol Pete's, Kastmasters and pink Power Worms on a water bobber set up have all been very successful this report.
Trollers continue to concentrate near the face of the Dam around the Rock Wall and in upriver locations near Columbia Gulch. The fish are a bit more elusive as of late, may be time to move around a bit and try a deeper troll. Night crawlers or beaded spinners behind flashers or medium dodgers are the most commonly used set-ups. No word of any more German Browns or Kokanee this report but I'm sure more will turn up soon. Check at the Marina for all your fishing supplies, snacks, updated fishing information and hot spots.
Bass fishing has also been active along the exposed rock edges along the shore, sounds like spinner baits are the ticket.
Water level is about 15-18 feet below the spillway and steady.
Recent success stories: No pictures from the Marina for this report-remember to stop by and get those monsters photographed and documented so we can include them here in the weekly report and you can back up those fish stories!
Pardee Lake Recreation has planted 9,000 lbs. of Rainbow
Trout as of this morning. The California Department of Fish and Game has also planted 1,000 lbs. of Trout to date for a grand total of 10,000 lbs.
