Fish Report for 3-1-2013

The Trout bite at Lake Morena resulted in some very nice stringers this week

Lake Conditions Surface temperature is 46.6 and 46.2 @ 20ft.
Water Clarity: Water visibility is at about 2' to 3'.

** IMPORTANT NOTE** There are currently no state fishing licenses available in the Lake Morena area so be sure you acquire one before you arrive. The State Licenses is required.

Trout What a fun week. John Ambrose, pictured above from Descanso was pleased with his limit totaling 13lbs 10ozs. His largest lunker was 4 lbs 8 ozs using green powerbait. John Bertussi had a limit of 11lbs 8ozs with his biggest a 3lb 2ozer. Powerworms in Paradise cove was his M.O. Brian Peterson, Photo #1 Alpine, fooled 11 lbs 8 ozs of trout with powerbait. Mike Manzy, El Cajon, was at the island near the dam nailing a 5 lb 10 oz stringer with nightcrawlers. Dave Jenson, Lakeside, had fun pulling in his 3 lb 10 oz trout.

Bass No Bass were reported this week.
Catfish A few anglers were surprised to find a catfish on their hook while trout fishing. John Ambrose plucked a 5 lber with powerbait.
Blue Gill No Pan fish were reported this week.
Crappie The crappie are stirring, say a couple of gents, in the north end near the larger boulders. Reports of 2's and 3 have made their way to my desk.
Carp These fish are saving themselves for another time.
