The road past the forest service gate is now closed and you will find some substantial ice and snow for the hike down into the canyon. Flows are very low right now and it has been slow on HC for a week. It needs to warm up a bit and get some melting from Mammoth Creek to elevate the levels enough to get the fish out of just the deepest holes and submerge the weeds some so you can extend drifts. FYI- Mammoth Creek is CLOSED to all fishing until the general trout opener at the end of April. You can fish from the shore across from the confluence but you may not cross and fish the far bank.
