Fish Report for 1-4-2013

The tout bite at Lake Morena was excellent this week with some nice sized tout being featured

Lake Conditions Surface temperature is 50.5 and 50.0 @ 20ft. Water visibility is at about 2' to 3'.

** IMPORTANT NOTE** There are currently no state fishing licenses available in the Lake Morena area so be sure you acquire one before you arrive. The State Licenses is required.

Please remember to renew your State Fishing Licenses. It's that time of year.

Trout: And another great week for the Anglers'. Stephen Clark and friend Troy Attig of Campo hauled in a 10 lb and 11 lb limits respectively with power bait in Paradise cove. Jim Rice fooled a 5 lb 8 ozer with green power bait in Paradise cove. Jessie Ostler, pictured above from Pacific Beach caught a 4 lb 8 oz and a 4lber with night crawlers and power bait in the same cove. Alex Silva caught a 4lb 2oz 'bow on his way to a 13lb limit. Gordon and Teresa Gardner from Spring Valley were competing and had Teresa, Photo #1 winning with her 4 lb 5 ozer with a night crawler in Geezer cove. Lenard Rose from Santee was able to fool a 5 lb 1 oz in Geezer cove with a night crawler.

Bass: No Bass reported this week
Catfish: No whiskers reported this week
Blue Gill: A few of the pan fish were cleverly disguised as trout. Probable DFG's.

Crappie: The crappie bite has slowed up to zip.

Carp: These fish are saving themselves for another time.
