Hello from your Lake Jennings!:
New Holiday Hours: We will be open every day from Dec. 21st thru January 6th 5:45 until 5:15 PM. This weekend was pretty much a washout. A few who braved the showers found trout at the Hermit Cove buoyline. The bass are in winter mode. The average is ? bass per angler.
Best Catfish Spots: Cloister Cove and anywhere along the dam buoyline
Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: 25 to 35 ft. of water on the points
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Ikas, Morning Dawn worms or creature baits
Best Trout Spots: Sentry Pt. to Eagle Pt. in 50 ft. of water
Best Trout Bait: Salmon peach and rainbow Power Bait.
Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. or limits under 30 minutes
Prognosis: We will stock another 1000 lbs. of Sierra 'Bows on Tuesday and then again Dec. 23rd. The water temp is 60 and is ideal for active trout. If you want bass fish throw a swimbait. You'll get 1 or 2 or none. The ones you do catch will be larger than average...Don't stop fishing for cats because the water is cold. Just fish deep!
Water Temperature: 60 degrees on the surface.
